The best weekends are the ones filled with both productivity and some fun! Even though we had some sad weather… it snowed last night – so awful – we still managed to have a really good time.
Ashley and I stayed in and kept it low key because we were getting up early to head to Cleveland to see Kayla compete in the Natural Ohio NPC competition. For dinner, we made some turkey sausages, brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries! Then hit they hay.
As planned, we were up and at’ em. We snagged some coffee; I ordered a Honey Lavender Latte – oh yes, you read that right – it was awesome, and then hopped on the turnpike to Cleveland.
We headed right to the Cleveland Public Auditorium where the competition took place and sat down to wait for Kayla to get on stage. Per usual, she rocked it! I love watching her up there – its’s such a ‘proud mom’ moment!
Since there was some time in between pre-judging and the finals, Ashley and I walked a little way to our favorite bars downtown. We popped in Chocolate Bar for my favorite martini – Chocolate Macaroon – and then headed down 4th Street to a couple different places, too.
We headed back to the hotel with Kayla and enjoyed her cheat meal with her – pizza, of course – then we crashed.
Around 8:00 we all started moving and Kayla grabbed Starbucks for all of us. I had a Venti Americano with two pump vanilla and later had an english muffing with egg whites, turkey and cheese. It hit the spot!
Then, we all hit the road back home.
Ashley and I made a pit stop for groceries to meal prep for the week once we got home. I am recruiting Kayla’s help to get me in shape before vacation. Should be a fun, by fun I mean interesting 6 weeks. I am looking forward to the journey, though. Especially since I just bought this pretty little thang…
Game mother effing face!!
I’ll be back mid-week with food/fitness for the week update.
I hope your weekend was fabulous!
