See, I told you I’d be back.
I needed to take some time to dig in and see where I want to begin on my journey back to a healthy lifestyle. Being as I’ve been in a rut for quite some time now I wanted to evaluate my goals and figure out just where I should start. I looked back to recall what I did the first time I really began to lose weight and decided that’s (kind of) what I need to do again.
Alas, here is (the beginning) of my plan:
Get back to basics & be consistent
I know the key to losing weight is a combination of things such as working out, eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep and not drinking too much alcohol. Great! Instead of starting off by making a ton of rules, some of which I’ll end up not sticking with I decided on setting goals each month and then as I hit those goals, I’ll add another.
For January, I decided on two goals that were currently having a large effect on my health and weight gain:
- Be sure I make it to Renegade at least 12 times this month. I pay for 12 classes per month and it’s not cheap, so why in the world would I not be using them? I need to get my butt in that gym 12 times – starting tonight!
- Cut back on the alcohol consumption. As a lot of you know, I love to be social. I love going out and having some drinks, listening to music and being with friends. Plus, I’m single. Which, I know is not an excuse, but I like to be out and about. I mean, how else am I going to meet my future husband…. and don’t say the grocery store!
I want to start here because these are things I can definitely accomplish. I want to be sure I am not setting myself up for failure. Also, I am not stating how many drinks because again, I don’t want to say ‘I’ll only have two’ then I have three and feel disappointed. I know what a normal week of drinks looks like for me, so I am shooting for less than that! 😉
In the end, consistency is key! Being consistent with my workouts, not skipping and making sure I’m moving each day is going to be a huge factor in my weight loss. In addition to that, consistently prepping meals, eating in moderation and knowing it’s ok to splurge, but not daily.
I have a plan, I’ve put it in motion and I’m ready to see results. 2016 was probably one of the hardest years for me – I went through a lot – and I am so ready to put it behind with a clean slate!
Before I could even put any of my goals into effect, I had to ask myself, am I ready? If I wasn’t ready it’d be a waste of time – the effort wouldn’t be there – but I can assure you, I am READY! Is anyone else ready to commit? Lets make 2017 our bitch!
I keep these photos in my phone as a reminder of what I once did and can totally do again if I put my mind to it! So, lets GO!
