Hi! My name is Lauren. Welcome to my little piece of blog world here at Focused To Be Fit!
I started this blog in 2010 as a place to talk about my journey with TurboFire and keep records of my workouts and meals. It has since turned into a place where I get to motivate and inspire others, while keeping tabs on myself and showing how it’s possible to get fit while still having fun. I work hard, but I play harder, and I document it all here on F2BF!
Since I can remember, I have always been self conscious about my body, the size of my pants and what I weigh. When I was younger I was always into fad diets and I did not have a good understanding of what ‘healthy‘ was. I never ate breakfast, thinking it would help me to lose weight. I thought I had to eat carrots for lunch and a salad for dinner. I was miserable.
As I grew up, I began to become more informed. I started to follow healthy eating blogs and realized I didn’t have to eat like a rabbit to lose weight, I just needed to be smart. I continued to learn how to eat right, I joined a gym, and I became focused on getting healthy and fit, the right way!
At this point, I was a year and a half into my college career, which began as a Marketing and Sales major. As most college students do, I changed my mind. I finally found my passion and began investigating in the School of Health Science at my current college. I discovered that they had a two year program to become a Dietetic Technician and that’s just what I did!
The dietetic courses furthered my understanding of how to live a healthy lifestyle. I was able to adapt what I was learning in the classroom and apply it to my own life. I was also beginning to realize that the important part wasn’t to be thin, but healthy.
In 2010 I completed the TurboFire program, along with my sister, and was finally able to brake the weight loss plateau. In the middle of the program, Angie Green found me and mentioned the idea of becoming a Beachbody Coach. While I wasn’t sure at first, I took some time, thought about it and new I wanted to show people these programs work, tell my story and help as many people get fit as I could. I signed up to Coach and haven’t looked back. I love meeting new people, helping them reach their goals and seeing them smile again!
It’s important for me to eat clean 80% of the time. I do my best to choose foods with short ingredient lists, organic when possible, and in it’s most natural form. I love cooking and being creative in the kitchen. I hope to bring you healthy and simple recipes that you can make for your own family!
I workout five to six days a week switching it up between LIVE Turbo classes, Beachbody DVD programs at home, such as, TurboFire, T25, Insanity, and most recently the 21 Day Fix workouts, elliptical intervals and of course, lifting. I get bored easily and am always trying new things. I love creating HIITs and circuits and always post them here for you to enjoy, as well!
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you’ll come back, share your comments, and pin anything you see here and love!
Working out is a privilege – not an obligation!
