Food + Fitness This Week

Good Afternoon!

How is it noon? I had to take care of some stuff this morning and it made my morning fly right by. After this post, I’ll be headed into the fitness room for some upper body followed by my new favorite lunch:

blog7I’ve been bringing this a few times a week, it’s healthy, delicious, filling and super easy to throw together.

You will need:

  • Ezekiel (or your favorite) Pita
  • chicken or I’ve also used Applegate Farm Turkey Pastrami
  • spinach
  • jalapeno peppers
  • banana peppers
  • dijon mustard

Throw everything into the pita and bam! That’s it!

Here’s how the rest of the week is going to look:

Last night, I prepped a huge salad for dinners and eggs with mushrooms and green pepper for the next two days.
blog3A lot of people don’t care for reheated eggs, but they work for me and make my life easier when I can scramble them up for a couple breakfasts at once. In the pan went 2 eggs + 3 egg whites and veggies.

I love having a pre-made salad in the fridge. I always come home starving after my workouts and if a salad isn’t prepped, there’s a good chance I’m grabbing for something else.

blog2In this mix went: 

  • spinach
  • organicgirl baby kale
  • broccoli slaw
  • broccoli
  • cucumber
  • mushroom

I had it for dinner last night and added goat cheese, avocado and the chicken that I had made, as well.

For the chicken I just lightly flavored it with these two seasonings from TJs. I love the spice from the South African Smoke.

blog1I now have chicken and salad for the week and eggs for a couple days. Other meals will be, Shakeology, more pitas and perhaps a quinoa stir-fry. Lately, I’ve really been into just easy meals that don’t require a lot of time or thought. Hence, salads, pitas, eggs and shakes. I used to be most creative at dinner time, but now that I’m just doing salads, there’s no need for fancy recipes, which I’m totally ok with for now!

Monday – Turbo/Abs
Tuesday – Upper Body (I might double up tonight and do a HIIT)
Wednesday – Dirty 30 (FIX strength DVD) + Elliptical
Thursday – Lower Body/Abs
Friday – FIX Cardio
Saturday – Turbo/Abs
Sunday – Rest or Plyo

blog5I just love working out with Autumn. It took a lot to find another ‘trainer’ I like because I’m such a fan of Chalene Johnson (creator of TurboFire < my first love), but I finally have found someone else who can motivate me and keep me going!
