We set goals as a means of getting better, working harder and with the intention of reaching them. I set goals for myself often – short and long term – some that are ongoing and others with a scheduled timeframe. These goals can range from business and blog to health and fitness, but each one is set with an intent of following through and reaching the end point. There’s nothing like the feeling when the hard work pays off and you accomplish a goal you set for yourself!
Would you agree?!
Last night, at Renegade, I retested in an attempt to get the coveted black wrist band. This band represents the fact that you have no restriction and can complete each workout at the hardest level. Previously, after my first test, I was given the green band, which meant there were certain jumping/leg moves that I wasn’t supposed to do based on the FMS testing.
At the time, while my ego was slightly bruised since I didn’t walk away with the black band, I knew it was in my best interest to rock that green band and work my way towards that black one, baby! At the time, I also told myself that when I reached my goal of getting the black band, I’d treat myself to some new workout gear.
Well, last night, after a few quick moves of checking out my leg movement, Chris handed me over the black wrist band – I did it!
It’s not the fact that I now have no restrictions that feels good, but more the fact that I set a goal and I accomplished it due to putting forth the effort. Plus, all ‘no restrictions’ means is that I have to work harder!
Timing couldn’t have been any better because, Rachel, a girl in class was wearing these awesome purple capri pants that I needed to own AND Old Navy was still 30% off – woohoo! After class I knew right where I was going….
I left with the purple pair of capris, two tanks (one was on clearance for $2.97), PJ bottoms and a pull over for $50! I’ve really been trying to save all my pennies, but I didn’t feel guilty about this because I knew I earned and deserved it!
I suppose I need to set a few new goals now that I’ve reached the point where I have the option to do anything in class.
1.) Complete box jump
2.) Do cross-leg TRX pull up from sitting position
3.) 30# dumb bell chest press
4.) Increase weight for kettlebell swings
I’d like to say I will be able to do all of these things by Christmas – we’ll see!
Here’s how the rest of the week looks:
Weekly Workout Schedule

Here is the circuit I created at home last Sunday – it’s a quick calorie burner and is great to do if you can’t get to the gym and need something fast but effective.
**Obviously, the amount of weight you use is up to you – I put 15 pounds here as an example.**
Don’t forget to PIN it!
