I had a flu shot this morning and I can’t believe how bad its taken out my left arm – I can barely lift it – thank goodness it’s leg day!
I just finished some yummy Vanilla Shakeology for some pre-workout fuel.
In the mix was Vanilla Shakeology, water/ice, 1/3 banana, ground flax and pumpkin pie spice. Perfection!
Today, I’m heading into the fitness center during my lunch hour to complete the usual ‘Leg Day’ circuit:
I’m headed back to Renegade tonight for some cardio. I’m pretty sore from last night’s class – we did one arm rows, TRX push-ups, sandbag squats, banded bi/tri work and more – it was good!
On the way to class, I grabbed a banana and a bite of PB. I was running late, so I ate it on the way. Hey look….fast food!
After class, I came home and made dinner, which was buffalo chicken quinoa.
I have leftovers for lunch today, but I put the mix over some spinach for some extra nutrients – especially the iron. Did you know that spinach is a good source of iron? Since I don’t eat red meat, it’s important that I pay attention to my iron intake.
“Foods that are rich in Iron include: red meat, egg, leafy greens such as spinach, collards, and fruit such as prunes, raisins, oysters, scallops and turkey. Beans, lentils, chick peas, soybeans, liver and artichokes are also rich in iron. Iron is required for the transport of oxygen in the body and formation of red blood cells.”
Here’s how it looked at lunch:
Just as good, if not better than, it looks!
Food for the rest of the week will include:
- Breakfast: Egg + egg whites with spinach and hot sauce. (the usual)
- Lunch: Salads with chicken or leftovers
- Dinner: Buffalo Chicken Quinoa, BBQ Kale Chips with Turkey Burgers, ‘Taco’ Salad, and FALL Salad.
- Snacks: Cottage cheese, apple and almonds, Shakeology
