Happy Friday – the sun is shinning, it’s payday and the weekend is only a few hours away -I couldn’t be happier!
I always feel like the week is dragging, but then when Friday comes, I think, man that was fast! I’m hoping this day doesn’t drag on – my morning was quick and I’m hoping the afternoon is just the same.
Last night I finally made it to Renegade for a workout. That place is seriously my playground.
I’ve been super diligent about getting my meal pairings down and eating every 2-3 hours. By ‘meal pairing’, I just mean, making sure I’m having balanced meals and snacks with carbs (C), protein (P) and healthy fats (F).
For example, this was a snack I had earlier this week:
Plain Fage greek yogurt (P) with 1/2 banana (C), pure honey and sunflower seeds (F).
I can tell what a difference it’s making. During my workout I was able to push myself hard the entire time and I burned the most calories I ever have during that class.
This includes the afterburn – during my actual active time, I shed about 550 calories – not bad! I left feeling very accomplished and excited to go back.
After a quick shower, I headed to Mandy’s for girls night. It’s so nice when the people around you are on board with a healthy lifestyle, too. For dinner, we had, spaghetti squash ‘ pasta’, cucumbers and hummus, quinoa salad and a green salad. Yum!
Other eats this week:
The return of the spinach salad with nectarine, goat cheese and pecans, plus I added a Boca patty. Everyday for breakfast has been 1 egg, 2 egg whites with various veggies and salsa. This meal keeps me full for hours – I love it!
1.) Nectarines – so fresh right now
2.) Cucumber slices with red pepper hummus and chives
3.) Spicy tuna with cucumber and tomato slices and a side salad
4.) Same salad as above
5.) Oven roasted parmesan cauliflower
6.) Lemon-pepper tilapia with pinto bean and cilantro quinoa
I had a yummy week of meals!
Workouts were pretty good too, but next week is when I’m really cracking down and starting a new schedule that Jen, from Renegade, and I put together. Today at lunch I did an awesome all-over-body circuit.
Don’t forget to Pin it!
I only had time to do it twice and it took me about 40 minutes and I burned close to 250 calories.
Now, I’m refueling with Shakeology and watching the clock – 5:00 isn’t too far. Happy weekend!
