Shift Excuses into Motivation [FIT Tuesday]

Happy Fat FIT Tuesday!

Don’t let the office paczkis get you off track! Just because it’s called ‘Fat’ Tuesday doesn’t give you the right to eat shitty all day – we’re going to make this a FIT Tuesday!

I started my day with Tropical Shakeology, which I added flax, spinach, strawberries, blueberries and cinnamon to. I’ve had Chocolate Shakeology for the last few days and wanted to change it up a bit – I’m such a chocolate girl, though! I’ve found that I crave the Tropical flavor more in the summer months.

blog25My meals yesterday were squeaky clean, as I anticipated them to be. I had a shake in the morning and then a Microgreen Salad at lunch, which I made Creamy Garlic Dressing for and topped with cashews.

blog22I also had a handful of unpictured strawberries.

Before heading to the gym, I had an apple with all natural peanut butter. I needed a good carbohydrate-protein balance to get me through two hours of classes. As I sat at my desk at work, waiting for 5:00, I was wavering back and forth about class and making excuses in my head of reasons to skip…

It’s so gray out and cold.
I’m still tired from the weekend.
Jenelle isn’t teaching Turbo.
Ashley won’t be there.

I could’ve kept going – it’s so easy to talk yourself OUT of a workout. But I knew I needed to get to that class, so I flipped it and started thinking with a positive attitude and focusing on why I needed to get my butt to class.

Cayman Islands in three months…BIKINI
Sweat out the alcohol and pizza calories from the weekend
Make class my own, just go have fun
Stephanie will be in Total Strength Class

These small mental reminders shifted my excuses into motivation and once I was in class, I was so happy I didn’t skip, which 99.9% of the time is how it goes! So much of working out and getting to the gym is mental. That’s one of the reasons I always create a weekly workout schedule. If I have it mapped out then I know what to expect and can mentally prepare myself for the week and ensure I’m clocking hours at the gym.

When I got home, I made my favorite meal that you’ve seen a lot recently and will be seeing more of – Quinoa Veggie Stir Fry – with a little added shrimp. Since I make this meal so frequently I suppose I could do a recipe post on it if that’s something you’d all like.

blog23Tonight I’m headed to Extreme Results for a class with my friend, Brittany. I’ve gone to a few classes there before, but not since Vince added on to the place. I’ll try to snag some pictures and do a review on it next week! Here’s how the rest of the week is looking, workout wise:

Weekly Workout Schedule:

Monday – Turbo + Total Strength (2 hours total)
Tuesday – Extreme Results (1 hour)
Wednesday – CX + Turbo (1 hour 45 min)
Thursday – Elliptical <3 It’s Valentine’s Day, which means I could be there longer…nothing else to do! ;) (1 hour+…)
Friday – HIIT, Abs, Squats (1 hour)
Saturday – Rest
Sunday - Possibly Sunday Funday at Extreme Results (1 hour 30 minutes)

Ok, almost time for lunch. If you do decide to partake in Fat Tuesday be sure you do this circuit to burn a few extra calories today!

blog26Have a fabulously FIT Tuesday, friends!! xo
