Monday again. Day 12 of the Reset – 9 to go. It’s 18 degrees and I want coffee.
I made my usual cup of tea this morning and then I got on Instagram and saw so many delicious looking breakfasts posted, but that wasn’t even the worst part…Starbucks cup after Starbucks cup filled my screen and I could’ve shed a tear. After the reset, I’m not going back to daily coffee, but I will be drinking it on occasion and today would’ve been one of those occasions.
Excuse me while I re-heat my Decaf Blueberry Herbal Tea, which I might add made me want blueberry pancakes this morning. Sigh. I guess it’s just one of those days.
Enough bitching, onto the weekend…
Friday night a couple friends stopped by and we chit chatted for a while and then decided to play Apples to Apples, my favorite!
I was a pretty boring host. I offered everyone tea, since that’s all Ashley and I can have and we hung out until about 11. I was so happy to finally crawl in bed and sleep in!
Saturday is always our errand day. Before we left I made a shake with flax, cinnamon, agave, strawberries and a Tropical packet.
Then we went to the mall to return a few things, stopped in Kohls, my parents’ house and of course loaded up on groceries for the week.
I did some cleaning around the house, worked for a bit on Beachbody and then thoroughly enjoyed time on the couch while watching some movies – it was awesome! By 6pm, I was feeling sluggish and ready for bed, though. I think since I was so lazy all day, it made me feel worse. So, I was in bed early again and Sunday was spent meal prepping for the week. I made a huge salad, Sweet Potato and Roasted Red Pepper Soup, Hearty Vegetable Miso Soup and cut up fruit.
It all turned out great! Have I mentioned how good this food is?
I’ve never roasted a red pepper before and thought it was going to be a pain. I laughed at myself afterward because it’s seriously so simple. This soup will be a staple after the cleanse. I also ate a few pieces of cooked sweet potato while I was cooking and I was amazed how good it tasted. Now that I haven’t been eating anything processed, added sugars, or super high in sodium, food in it’s natural state is tasting even better. Does that make sense?! I never thought I would enjoy a plain sweet potato with nothing on it, but I really did!
Lunch was the usual salad, which I have yet to get sick of, I really enjoy it and especially the homemade dressing.
I ate lunch under the heating blanket with some Kardashian sisters on the TV!
The rest of the night was spent being pretty lazy. I did everything I needed to, so I just enjoyed some TV time with Ashley before calling it a night. Overall, it was a pretty good weekend! This week appears to be a bit busy, so we’ll see how it balances out with the cleanse.
I’ll be back on Wednesday with a recap of the Ultimate Reset Week 2!
