Phase 1: Reclaim – COMPLETE

Week one is DONE!!

Seven days down and fourteen to go – amazing! I must say that the week flew by. Just as a recap, here’s how Beachbody explains what week 1 is all about:

Phase 1: Reclaim

‘During these first seven days you’ll begin to alter your diet, slowly removing foods like red meat and dairy that put stress on your digestive system and tilt your body toward an acidic state. You’ll also be introduced to four of the six supplements that make up the Ultimate Reset™ protocol—Alkalinize, Oxygenize, Mineralize, and Optimize.

In Week One, you’ll rehydrate your body (most of us are living in a slightly dehydrated state) and reactivate sluggish cell function, along with shifting your body’s pH (level of acidity) back toward a healthier, alkaline state, and away from any excess acidity that can weaken your body’s functions.

Once your body has been primed, balanced, and strengthened on a cellular level, it will be primed to continue the process of releasing accumulated toxins.’

Pretty cool, right?!

The week went mostly great. I had a few mornings of headaches and moments of lethargy, but otherwise, I was full and satisfied from the meals and actually gaining energy as each day passed.

Pictured above is Zucchini Cashew Soup, which I enjoyed, but Ashley thought it was like baby food. Typically I’m not one to be bothered by different food textures, so I liked it!

Well, I may have spoke to soon…

Oh. Em. Gee.

Ok, I thought Alakalinize was a bit of an odd taste, but it still didn’t phase me much. I had no idea what I was in store for.

Detox sure is something else. I’ve never tasted anything like this before. It’s brown, gritty, and so far, the worst part about this cleanse. I’m just being honest. I imagine by the time I get a few down, it’ll be better, but the first few have been quite rough. I read on the support page a few tricks that I plan on testing since I have to get twenty one, well now nineteen, of these bad boys down over the next seven days. I’ll let you know next week if it gets any better, but for now, let’s recap the first week:

Recap of Reset Week 1:

How I feel mentally: I know that I can do this. The last seven days flew by and I don’t doubt that the next fourteen won’t do the same.

Sleepy: Not at all. I wake up easier, I make it through most of the day not feeling sluggish and I’m not exhausted at night like I was in the first few days.

Hungry: I was never really hungry at all during week 1. The food was awesome and kept me full and satisfied.

Mood: Great! Yesterday I left work feeling content with life – everything seems to be fitting into place. They said with the cleanse you may evaluate things in life and I can see that happening.

What I miss: In order – Turbo, Shakeology, a piece of chocolate now and then

How I feel physically: I like how light I’m feeling. I like going to bed and waking up without the bloated belly.

Weight: I’ve lost three pounds so far.

I’m really excited to see what the next week brings. In week 2 the diet becomes more refined as all animal proteins and dairy are removed. I’m hoping to see my skin clear up and more pounds coming off. Exciting stuff!

Stay tuned…

I had to put the detox in capsules. If you want some I’ll give them to you.

I loveee detoxing, but I have never done anything like this before. Way to guzzle that foggy green goodness down! HA!

I haven’t either but I have to say, I’m loving it! I feel SO good. I can only imagine how I’ll feel at the end – I’m only half way done!
