Well hey there, F2BF crew!
Wow, can I just say WHAT AN HONOR this is to be guest posting in place of the gorgeous Lauren this week! Seriously stoked right now. Where to begin… Well, I met this amazing gal pal through none other than the power of the internet (I mean, is there any other way these days, lol!) Like all of you, I had a burning desire to get fit and live the best life possible, so what did I do, I turned to Google. I began researching fitness blogs and low and behold came across F2BF. Needless to say, I was inspired. Turned out we had A LOT in common! We were both Beachbody Coaches, loved Turbo, had a love/hate relationship with running and lived only but an hour from each other… SMALL WORLD, I KNOW! She actually inspired me to start my own fitness blog, FitLiz, how cool is that?!
But, any who, a little about me, I’m 30 years old, married and have 6 year old twins, a son and a daughter.
My family is the reason I decided to jump on this fitness train for the long haul. I want to be the very best I can be for my family and living this lifestyle of being fit has definitely made that possible. What’s my poison? Turbo. Hands down, I’m a TurboFire girl for life! It’s definitely my soul mate workout and the main reason I have been able to fall in love with fitness. Word of advice: Find a soul mate workout, a workout that you absolutely love and one that when it’s over you are sad and you can’t wait until tomorrow to do it again! Chalene Johnson is my all time favorite trainer and because of her I’ve been able to broaden my horizons in fitness with intense weight training. Question for the F2BF peeps, Do you LIFT? I can tell you that at first I was anti-weights, just simply refused to get into a weight training program. I firmly believed that it would just bulk me up and I would look like one of those “she-man” bodybuilders! I mean, it appeals to some people, but I knew it was definitely not for me. But, what I didn’t know, lifting weights DOES NOT bulk you up, and that is the honest to goodness truth! After many rounds of TurboFire, I had found I hit a plateau, just wasn’t getting the results I wanted. So what did I do? Yep! Went back to the internet and did some research and had to face my nemesis, the weights. It was a rude awakening, but I trusted in it, mainly because my girl Chalene said I needed to start lifting weights LOL. Thank goodness she had a program that fit my fancy and I jumped on board ChaLEAN Extreme about 10 weeks ago.
That’s right, just 10 weeks ago, I have 2 more weeks left and I will have finished this awesome intense weight training program! And I have to tell ya… this weight lifting stuff works! I’ve definitely re-shaped my body in 10 weeks, it is much leaner, toner and tighter now. Even my overall body fat % has dropped! Really, and I’m speaking to the ladies on this one, we are not getting any younger, as we approach our 30s our metabolism begins to slow, at 40 it starts to crawl and at 50 it just comes to a screeching halt. How can we prevent that from happening? Build muscle. How? LIFT WEIGHTS. I promise you, adopt this one little routine into your weekly fitness routine and you will start to see a world of difference!
