Do you prefer to workout in the morning or at night? I always exercise in the evening, as soon as I get off work – if I sit down I won’t get up again, so I immediatley go upstairs and change into my workout clothes.
However, sometimes I have plans at night which restrict me from fitting in my workout. Therefore, I’d really like to get in the habit of working out in the morning on those type of nights.
Here are a few things that help me prepare for an early morning workout.
Set your clothes out the night before:
Have a snack ready to go:
When I am planning on a vigorous workout or a boot camp style class at 6am my body doesn’t have near enough energy to keep me fueled, so I always have a pre-workout snack ready to go. I like PBJ or PB/banana toast the best! The protein + carbs work like a charm.

Get 8 hours
I know it’s tough for a lot of people to get the recommended eight hours of sleep a night but it truly will help you – not only to get you through your workout but also get you through the day!
