This Friday is especially happy since it’s a long weekend!! I am getting off at 2:00 today and heading to our cottage in Indiana, as soon as possible! I won’t be home until late Monday and we don’t have internet, so I’ll just have a weekend recap on Tuesday.
We have lot’s of good food planned for the weekend including – veggie pizza, pasta salad, veggies & dip, pulled chicken and wings for meat eaters and I plan to whip up some bean burgers! Can’t wait to spend time with family, friends, and Eric!!
[Rewind to yesterday]
Yesterday was day 3 of the Shakeology Cleanse that I was testing out. If you missed Day 1 & 2 recap, read here:
Now, on to Day 3. I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the day because I knew I was close to the end – at this point, I was basically done. I made my shake in the morning – Shakeology + ice + water + half banana, and sucked it down because I was Starvin’ Marvin.
Then, I got to work making Beachbody flyers for Shakeology, so I ended up skipping my mid-morning snack. Bad idea! By 1:30 my body needed food. I got a headache and felt a little dizzy so I knew my blood sugar had to be pretty low. I immediatley grabbed my watermelon and whipped up shake #2.
Before I left work, I also ate an apple since I was heading to get my hair done, I wanted to be satisfied until I could get home and make a salad.
Then, when I got home, I made a salad and half of a shake. I added a little peanut butter for different flavor – not in cleanse directions, but I cheated. Shh 😉
I lost four pounds!!!
I think this is a good number for me. I figure, my body is use to eating healthy foods and I have been on Shakeology for 2 weeks now, so my body is pretty clean as it is – so I am happy with this number!
I am glad I did it for the experience and now I have the knowledge behind the cleanse if anyone would ever inquire about it. I also am happy that I maintained the willpower to complete it, even though there were times I wanted to cheat (besides the PB ;)).
They say it’s safe to do the cleanse once every three months – I won’t be doing it again in three months…but I probably will do it again, eventually!
Today, I woke up knowing I could eat and nothing sounded good – fail. So, I made 2 egg whites with mushroom, tomato and spinach, popped it inside of a pita wedge and brought it to work.
I ate once I got to work and my taste buds were cheering! I already can’t wait for lunch! I brought a wrap with hummus, feta, spinach, black beans, and banana peppers, mmm! I probably will not be posting again until Tuesday – so, check back then for what I ate all weekend and what we did.
Enjoy this long weekend, be safe, have a drink, eat some good food, sweat a little, get outside, be sure to remember the real reason we all are given this extra day off work and be thankful!
