So, it’s day 2 of the cleanse – I am hanging in there, but I am ready for the end (tomorrow is the last day). Three days is so short, but I really miss real food, haha! Is that bad?!
Anyway, yesterday when I got off work, I did HIIT 30 as well as Abs 10, with my friend and fellow Beachbody Coach, Kayla. My energy was running pretty low by the end of the HIIT since I have so few calories running through my body. However, we felt amazing once it was over.
Luckily, for dinner, I was allowed to have a salad, I used – iceberg, romaine, edamame, cauliflower, cucumber and black beans for protein as well as olive oil and lemon juice for the dressing. I was so happy to be chewing. 😉
Today has been – shake for breakfast and pineapple for a snack.
So, the way I looked at this cleanse was that anyone can do 3 days. It’s not that long and I knew that I would need to do it during the week because doing it on a weekend would just be setting myself up for failure. Looking back to yesterday, I was really craving something more for breakfast but I just pushed through the cravings and around 11:30, I had my first serving of fruit.
Lunchtime shake was good and I didn’t even need my second serving of fruit, but I ate it right before my workout to help me make it through – I knew my body would want those calories.
Then, when dinner time came around, I made my salad and was satisfied from that so didn’t end up making my third shake. I knew this may be the case because last week, when Ashley did the cleanse, she didn’t need her third shake either.
Around 8pm, my stomach started to growl and I knew the best thing to do would just be go up to bed – I didn’t want to be tempted to eat. I told myself if it was completely unbearable, I would eat an apple since I hadn’t had the third shake, I figured this would even out! I didn’t end up eating the apple but when I went to sleep at 10:30, my stomach was grumbling – that’s for sure!
I woke up today and wasn’t famished like I thought I might be. I put black coffee in my shake (this is allowed) and it held me over all the way to 11:30 when I decided to have my pineapple. Then, for lunch today, I put half the banana in – partially for taste and partially to give my shake more holding power! I plan to eat the other half when I get home, before I run errands – (American Eagle is 30% off entire purchase through Monday) – then, it’s salad time again. I’m planning to decide then if I’m going to have my third shake or not – perhaps just half of one?
I’ll be back tomorrow with an update of how my final day is going, so check back!
