I’ve missed posting on the blog so much! Last week I was dedicated to one thing, and one thing only – studying for the Dietetic Technician Registration Exam. So, as not to create pressure for myself, I didn’t tell anyone when the exam would be – well, it was last Friday and I PASSED!!!! I am now,
Lauren J. Clement, DTR!
I was under so much stress last week that I wasn’t very pleasant to be around. Luckily, my family, friends, and Eric offered me the support I needed and without them I would have been an even bigger mess.
[Rewind to the beginning of the week]
Tuesday, after work, my parents surprised me with a massage at the salon where I get my hair done, downtown. It was awesome. At first, as I was laying there, I was going over note cards in my head, but eventually I let myself relax a bit and enjoyed the massage.
On Wednesday, I went to Eric’s house and he surprised me with flowers and a card. So sweet<3. Then, we had an amazing dinner of tilapia and pasta. It was the perfect evening to get my mind off the exam for a little bit!
Thursday, I studied all day at work and my sister, Ashley, quizzed me when I got home. By 10pm, I had clocked 12 hours of studying and needed to just rest before heading to take the exam in the morning. If I wasn’t ready by then, I was never going to be.
Friday morning, I woke up feeling confident and just ready to get the exam over with. I ate my special ‘good luck strawberry’ that Reese, a little girl my mom watches, left for me.
After the exam, I met Eric for a celebratory lunch and beers. We went to Shorty’s and I ordered a Sunset Wheat and veggie kabobs.
Saturday a bunch of us went to Detroit for the Tigers game and we stayed at Greektown Hotel & Casino – love it there!
PBJ, banana and Cliff bar.
I headed back to the hotel around 1am and crashed, hard!
Sunday, when we got home from Detroit, I made a smoothie with – ice, Silk Chocolate Soy Milk, almond milk, a banana and flax.
For our ‘Easter Dinner’, my parents made burgers, brats, asparagus, and veggie kabobs for me. Sorry no photos! I was so hungry, I forgot!
It was such a fun weekend and I am so relieved that the exam is over. Time to start job hunting! Anyone know of anywhere that’s hiring!?
Thanks for being patient, I will now be posting on a regular basis, again! Chat later.
