Remember when I wrote the first post for National Nutrition Month and Eating Right with Colors!? Well I am going to finish the series now that the end of March is quickly approaching. I was going through the ABC’s of Eating Right with Colors and I left off at ‘L’.
‘Lastly, if I had to leave you with just one statement: Eat Real Food.’
So, to continue from there:
Majority of the foods that you are consuming should be ‘Real ‘Colorful Foods’, which means not processed or artificial that will Nourish your body properly. Oddly enough, many Americans think it is a Pain to try to eat healthy, raw ingredients and I have to Question why?
Our bodies are very intelligent and if we Treat them properly, then we really have nothing to worry about. However, since Americans are ignorant to the fact that Heart Disease is the Number 1 killer in the US (910,000 annually) they will continue to do what they have always done.
It is Very scary to me that even though the information is available, people are not taking advantage of it. Instead of making changes now, Americans are Waiting until they actually have the disease and then wanting to get help. At this point they may or may not be able to turn things around depending on how far the disease has progressed. For eXample, if someone is in the ‘Pre-Diabetes’ stage (blood sugar of 100-125 mg/dL) then there is still plenty of time to prevent or manage the disease with weight loss, exercise, and improved nutrition.
-Exercise more; whether it’s walking, jogging, yoga, or dance.
-Make the decision to eat clean, raw foods with COLOR
-Take time to relax
-Spend time with family
-Set attainable goals for yourself
I promise you will have Zero regrets – just 100% satisfaction! What are you waiting for!?
