It is rainy and dreary here and I don’t feel like doing much, that is for sure. I did make some tea though, which is warming me up. I am no longer having caffeine headaches after giving up coffee for Lent, so I feel better about that. I didn’t want to be one of those people that needed coffee in the morning so I am glad I gave it up. After Lent, I will just enjoy it here and there, especially of the iced variety – my favorite. Currently, I have still been enjoying tea with honey once in a while.
Lunch yesterday was Tuna Salad that my mom threw together, but I added red pepper and broccoli to spruce it up a bit.
Then, I got pumped up to run – and I know to runners out there four miles seems like nothing, but since I am just getting back to running I knew it was going to take some time and motivation to finish.
Mile 1 and 2 were a little rough fighting through the frustration due to shin splits, but I didn’t quit, I kept pushing. Then, mile 3 came and I was feeling much better, I even thought to myself, maybe I’ll run 5 miles – if I can run 4…I can run 5.
I kept at it and was feeling good and had some fun music playing so I just continued running and before I knew it, I completed 6 miles. I pretty much stuck to the 13 minute/mile and I was still comfortable with this although, I really want that 12. 😉 I know that with time I will accomplish this and I am not in a hurry. So, it ended taking me 1:20 to finish 6 miles, I can’t wait to quicken my pace so that it doesn’t take me so long.
Quick shower and then dinner was on my mind. Easy ‘Pizza Pocket’ sounded good to me. I threw into a whole grain tortilla – pizza sauce, mozzarella, feta, and sauteed broccoli, mushrooms, yellow pepper, and banana pepper all flavored with Italian Seasoning.
Since it’s so nasty outside, I am going to try to focus on studying a lot today. Time is ticking.
